In very simple terms, an Angel Syndicate or Angel Investment Network is a group of individual investors that have come together to invest in a company under one fund through one single investment. Typically an Angel Syndicate is composed of a number of Angels (an Angel is a high-net-worth individual who financially invests in companies).

This alliance of self-organising individuals join together to pursue a shared interest, in this instance, managing large transactions they would otherwise struggle to do individually.

In addition to increasing their financial position, the networks formed through syndicates allow individual Angels to gain access to deal flow (investment opportunities) they might otherwise not have the opportunity to.

If looking to raise investment or contact an angel investment network, it is recommended you do your research prior and prepare a pitch. Some networks will also only look at investment opportunities/startups referred by a member of their network, so you may have to do some networking to gain access to the network.
