Have you heard? Landscape has a new member onboard. I am very happy to introduce you to myself, Adam.

Now, in keeping with some of Landscape’s core values, honesty and transparency, I tend to think your typical ‘welcome onboard’ introductions sound a little clichéd.

Having received my fair share, they seem to excessively utilise phrases such as, “I am so excited to be joining the team” or, “I can’t wait to see what we can achieve”, *yawn* I could go on.

No doubt, you have all been on the receiving end of such platitudes. But by now, I think we can all agree that whilst the sentiment is well-meant and delivered with good intentions, they can be taken as given. Being intelligent, commonsensical individuals, I’d like to think you already know that these things apply and I thus need not parrot any more such old chestnuts.

What I will say, however, is this. I feel incredibly lucky and privileged to join Landscape at such a unique, pivotal, defining moment of its journey.

Landscape is filling a gap in the startup funding ecosystem that has needed to be filled for quite some time but, for whatever reason, has remained vacant.

Over the past several years, as a founder myself and by working with other founders and startups, I have taken account of a number of key themes, either through personal experience and observation, or through listening to the conversations, gripes and irritations of others.

Transparency, support and community. If I could sum it up in as rudimentary a way as possible, these three terms would be it.

And Landscape is bringing all of these to the ecosystem.

I haven’t even got started, yet there is already an evidently strong community around what we’re trying to achieve with Landscape.

If you’re reading this, it is likely you have already interacted with Landscape in some way shape or form and you’ve helped lay the foundations of something very special. I hope this collaboration in shaping Landscape’s growth will continue and flourish.

I like to keep things short and sweet rather than long and lousy, so with that said, I’ll end this short intro with un petit peu of a request. Well, two requests.

First off, if you are able to leave a review of an investor, and have or have not done so already, please leave one (or another, or two, or three more - the sky's the limit) here.

Secondly, I want to speak to AS MANY OF YOU AS POSSIBLE.

My official title at Landscape is Community & Growth Lead. My unofficial title is Founder’s Advocate.

I am here to listen to your needs and wants and to communicate them to investors. I am your voice. If you’re thinking about it, I want to hear about it. If you’re wondering about it, I want you to ask me about it.

I want to know what you think Landscape should offer. What can Landscape do to help YOU? What do YOU want from Landscape? What are YOU concerned about? What do YOU like or dislike? Is our app rubbish? Tell me. Are the review forms missing key metrics? Tell me. Are our newsletters annoying and uninformative? Tell me. Whatever it is, tell me.

“But I am an investor” I hear you say. I STILL want to hear from you. The nature of Landscape is one of open collaboration and transparency. I cannot perform my role to the best of my ability if I only speak to one side of the Landscape coin so to speak.

I have put aside 25 hours, yes you heard me right, 25 hours, per week for the next 2 weeks so I can speak to as many of you as possible. Just book in a time to speak here - it’s open season, weekends included. I WANT TO HEAR FROM YOU.

Ok, enough caps locks.

Until next time (link here again …),

Adam
